Schroeder Reunion No. 20 Less Than One Year Away!

The 19th annual Schroeder reunion went off smoothly this year. I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. News from the Treasurer is that we had a total of 55 adults and 19 children 4 (ages 3-12)and an unspecified amount of children under 3 years of age. The financial report is as follows: INCOME         Prior Balance: Excess Admission: 50-50 Profit: Auction: TOTAL: $42.50 $47.00 $50 00 $85.00 $214.50   EXPENSES       Door Prizes: $40.00   NET AMOUNT:   $184.50 (Plus we always have a $25.00 deposit on hand at Hart Lake for the next year's reunion.)

At present we have the next year's reunion set at Hart Lake for August 13, 1994. (Always the second Saturday in August.) We have a larger than usual amount left in our treasury this year so if you have any ideas for spending it please pass it along. Some suggestions from Chris include: 1) 2) 3) keep the balance for newsletter costs, door prizes, special gifts, etc.; pay the costs for tile group photo for everyone from Lloyd Jr., or charge less admission next year. Reunion '93(cont'd) A number of people have also expressed an interest in moving the reunion to another place. For the next issue of the newsletter anyone who has a suggestion please submit it to me (with details confirmed) and we will put it up for a vote. Some early suggestions include:     1) keep it at Hart Lake;     2) Seaside NJ. Dan and I vacationed there this year and it was nice. We stayed in an inexpensive hotel ($60.00/night) and were right across the street from the beach and close to the boardwalk . The motel had about 30 rooms and an upstairs patio with tables and chairs and a lower patio (covered) with picnic tables. There was also a pool. We might be able to got a group rate if we rented the entire motel.     3) Carolyn and Corey Unangst visited a park in Northharnpton County, PA that they liked, the Louise W. Moore Park. It is a new park but does not have swimming available. It does have nice pavillions, tennis courts, golf chipping area, multi-purpose field, softball fields, play lot, volleyball courts, restrooms, a jogging trail, a windmill and an overlook. This would be nice too if we wanted to move the reunion back a little so the swimming wouldn't make that much difference     4) Jean was also going to check into some state parks in the Maryland area to see what is available. Please anyone who knows of a place let me know.

Schroeder Hints Rubbing alcohol will wipe away that dull hair spray haze from a mirror. Chill canned beverages in your washer or laundry room sink when you are having a party. The melted ice will drain away! Quick-patch small leaks in plastic hoses by just barely touching them with the tip of a hot ice pick. The idea is to melt the plastic so it self-seals the hole.

Goings on Jack Schroeder has taken up a new residence. His new address and phone is now 151 Interlocked Drive, Apt 717, Silver Spring, MD 20817, (301) 598-4766. Jennifer Foss heads to the heartland. Jen can now be found at Arkansas Technical University P.O. Box 8666, Russelville, AR, 72801. Her number is (501) 890-0200. Please stop by no time you are out that way-she would welcome any visitors. Heidi Bamford to tie the knot! Heidi has set a date of June 18th, 1994 for her upcoming nuptials to here long time interest Jim Fritts. Congratulations, Heidi! Burns Bamford was recently in the hospital being treated for some condition I have never heard of before nor can remember now. It had one of those long names with one of those sick sounding endings. Well, I wish you a speedy recovery and good health in the future. Skip, Casey and Corey Unangst went to Disney World this past summer for the first time. Casey and Corey not only got to see the sights but got ride right behind Lady Diana on Space Mountain for the first time.
